I am tracing JAMES MALSON b 1852 in Rhymney and in particular his parents, thought to be JOHN MALSON (d.o.b. unknown) and SUSAN b 1829 (maiden name unknown).

JAMES had a sister, SARAH A. b 1854

JAMES married SUSANNAH FREEGARD b 1854 in Newport in 1875 before moving to Fazeley, Staffordshire where they became Schoolmaster and mistress at a Public Elementary School.

They had six children:-

SUSANNA M. b 1880, LOUISA M. b 1882, FREDERICK W. b 1883, my grandmother EDITH GWENDOLINE b 1884, JAMES TREVOR b 1888 and GWLADYS M. b 1889

If any light can be shed on this family I would be very grateful.

Kind regards,

David Hankey[I]

James MALSON's birth was registered in Abergavenny March quarter 1852 Volume 11a page 94

If you purchase this birth certificate it will tell you for sure who his parents were.

This looks to be him in the 1861 census. It would seem that his mother re-married.

Hi, Sue,

Many thanks for this information. It confirms the thought his mother remarried.

Regards,

David
