Would very much appreciate any sightings in 1861/1871/1881 census for this family.

Thomas Orton. Born 27 Aug 1819. Wapping. London.
Christened 26 Sept 1819 at St John’s Wapping.
1839 Pigots directory of London listed as Thomas Orton & Co at 94 Lower East Smithfield as a Butcher
In 1841 census Listed at Downs Wharf Lower East Smithfield. Listed as a Butcher.
Married 5 Aug 1848 Parish Church Hackney to Eleanor Edwards born 1824 Bishopsgate.
In 1848, on marriage cert, occupation listed as Salesman.
In 1851 census living with Father & Mother at 69 Wapping High Street.
Still at parents house at date of daughter Kate's birth in August.
Listed as a Shetland Pony Importer on the 1851 P.O. Directory and as a Dealer in Horses on the census.
Ran his fathers Shetland pony Depot at 95 Lower East Smithfield.

George Harry dob 23 July 1854. 5 Russells Buildings, St George In The East. Christened 20 Aug 1854.

Thank you so much for that, I've been tearing my hair out trying to find them. Mind you I wasn't looking in Yorkshire, or at Morton. I thought they'd still be in London and I'd hunted Oerton, Oughton, Horton & Orton all over the country.

also just noticed that you include Ward in your name list.
Just in case you are not aware, The Ortons were related by marriage to the Jury family of Wapping as indeed were the Wards

Now that I didn't know. Only researching Wards from Norfolk. However info on any relatives of Ortons & Jury's gratefully received as we also know of a researcher who is searching for female line descendents of Ortons to do a DNA test I believe.
