Does anyone have the 1941 Census for the Hunslet and Morley areas of Leeds and please would they be able to spare a few minutes for a lookup? I can return the favour with lookups at Ancestory.co.uk or some of my time when next at Leeds library.

I am interested in finding any siblings or parents for the following ancestor

John Fothergill b1820 Morley, Leeds, d1896 Hunslet, Leeds m1849 Wakefield.

I'm hoping that as he was not married in 1841 that he was still living with his parents and they still lived in Morley. However, I guess he/they may have also moved to Wakefield by then.

Thanks

Phil,

Thank you for finding the information. Since my original post I did buy the 1841 Yorkshire set and found the first two families but unbelievably missed David Fothergill, and family. My John Fothergill is in the 1951 census aged 31 and living in Upper Carr. However, his father was also John Fothergill, from his marriage certificate and lived in Morley. Given the names in the families and the trades I would not be suprised if they were all related. I hope you didn't spend to much time on the search. I know what it is like now without a name index.

Thanks again
