Hi,
Does anyone know how l would be able to find marriage information for a James Brown to a Ellen. I have them both on the 41 and 51 Wales census's as both born County Cork about 1795. Any help would be really appreciated.

It is very hard if they married before 1837. You would need to know if they married in Wales and then look at the Parish Records for the local church.

Are there children on the 1841/51 census whose ages and place of birth would help narrow down a marriage date?

Of course, they may have married in Ireland before coming here.

On the irish-roots site
There are eleven marriages in Cork (North & East) between 1826 and 1834 for a James Brown but no spouse name is given in the free search. It costs 5€ to look at each record. Very expensive!

Thanks Mutley, I haden't heard of that site before, will have a look. From the census's there eldist child was also born in County Cork around 1828, so am sure they married there.
