I have an marriage reference for a James Snashall x Susanna Wise on the 5th May 1827 at St. Giles in the Fields. Does anyone know if the parish register is available - perhaps an LDS film number? - to be able to get a copy of the marriage.

Barrie,

According to Hugh Wallis's site (http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~hughwallis/IGIBatchNumbers.htm#PageTitle), there is a batch C021551 of mid-19th century births at St Giles Holborn, which I think is the same as St Giles in the Fields. However, no marriages are listed by HW and I could not find the church at all in the Family Search indexes.

According to GENUKI (http://homepages.gold.ac.uk/genuki/MDX/HolbornStAndrew/churches.htm):

St.Giles-in-the-Fields, High St, W.C. [1547 from Holborn St Andrew]. Registers still with church. NOT in IGI, possibly no LDS Film - Still open.
SAINT GILES IN THE FIELDS, HOLBORN, ST GILES HIGH STREET in LMA database

You can see the films that the LDS has for St Giles in the Fields here:

The LMA have the registers on film.

Many thanks for all the replies to my query. I will try and get a printout from the LMA.

LMA's fees are fairly steep. I think the Mormons can provide the registers on film but the catalogue isn't working at the moment. I seem to recall that you have to enter a place name of St Giles... or something along those lines (nothing so logical as logical as 'Holborn'!).
