Unfortunately I do not have a subscription to the 1901 Census at the moment, but I have found a Walter KISBY in the 1901 census Index which is of interest to me. His place of birth in the index is given as Aslebydela.. Leicester. Could anyone hazard a guess as to where "Aslebydela.." might be, maybe an abbreviation, or mistranscription?

Hi, Sean

Ashby de la Zouch, Leicestershire sounds possible to me.

It's Ashby de la Zouch. Quite clear on the original. To be fair to the much maligned Ancestry transcribers they got this one right!

He was 23 and living at 7 Balsall St East, Bedford with wife Alice (25) b.Hitchin and children Frederick (5) and Albert (1 month) b. Bedford. Also his in-laws Charles and Matilda COUSINS (56 and 55) b Hitchin. Walter's occupation is given as General Labourer with what looks like 'road corporal' written underneath. He probably worked for the local Corporation.

His marriage to Alice COUSINS was registered Jun qtr 1899 in Bedford 3b/757

Hey, thanks for all that additional information! The family had certainly travelled a fair way, before the invention of the M1
