There is a family on the 1851 census that could possibly be yours.
London Street, Whittlesey, Cambridgeshire
John Suitor, Head, 52, Ag Lab, Thorney,
Hannah, Wife, 49, Whittlesey
Elizabeth, daur, 30, Parish Allowance ( it has in brackets ibe or ile?) Whittlesey
Alice, daur, 22, Ag Lab, Whittlesey
John, son, 8, Whittlesey
Robert, son, 6, Whittlesey

HO107 piece 1765, folio 60 page 29

Looks like the same family in 1841, all born in the county
Town Yard, London Street, Whittlesey
John Suitor, 40 Ag Lab
Hannah, 32,
Elizabeth, 20
Mary, 12
Alice, 13
Ann, 9,
John, 5
Grace, 4
James, 1

Hi
A search on IGI for John Suter all(Briths, Marriages etc) Cambridge came up with this.....

JOHN SUTER
Spouse: GRACE SMITH
Marriage: 12 MAR 1787 Thorney, Cambridge, England

Could this be his Father and Mother's marriage....

Hi again....

Just like to add Thorney and Whittlesey are only approximately 10 - 15 miles from March, Cambridgeshire.

I'd be having a look at all 3 Parish Registers for them....

We've been over all this on a couple of earlier threads, on both this board and others. As John gave his birthplace as Thorney in censuses it's that parish register that needs to be checked for his baptism, particularly as you're hoping to link him to the 1787 Thorney marriage.

There is no John Suter baptism in March - where does the information that he may have born in March come from?

Sooty

We have:
1851 John born Thorney 1798/9
1861 John born Thorney 1799/1800

You say that John married Hannah Hillard in Whittlesey on 3 July 1820. Let's get back to basics. Was a parish of residence other than otp given for John? Who were the witnesses? Do their names provide any clues?

Irrespective of what this other tree states, there's NO baptism of a John Suter in March at the right time.

Despite all the census evidence pointing to him having been born in Thorney, Keith on the other board (chat and roots) checked Thorney parish register and drew a blank for John's baptism

It really is counter productive to post the same question every 6 months stating that you believe he was born in March, and citing someone else's tree. You'll get the same answer each time.

Hi Sooty

One rule in Genealogy
|scold| Never, never take anyone else's information as the truth unless they send you copies of the information or you have found it/seen it for yourself. Even the Census can be wrong ie Transcription errors, people lie about their age etc....

I have now read all the other posts you have on John Suter on B-G and we are all giving you the same replies, as David says he's not in March or Thorney PR now try Whittlesea, spread the net a little wider.
