Hello

I am trying to find my x3 great grandmother, who is shown on the 1901 census as Mary Jane Davis born in Chelsea. I have her daughter, Ethel Davis' birth certificate which gives her surname as Curson. I also have Isaac and Mary Jane's marriage certificate, which gives her surname as Curson as well. It also says her age at the time of marriage was 21, and they were married in 1882. But I can't find any record of her birth or find her as Curson on any earlier census. Please help!

Thanks

Sam

This looks like her in 1881:

3 Woodside, Dorville Road (?), Lee, Kent

Reginald Shepherd, Head, Mar, 30, No profession, b Faversham, Kent
Mary A Shepherd, wife, mar, 35, b Salop
Mary L Gibson, neice, unm, 7, b Canada
Mary J Curson, servant, unm, 19, General Servant, b Chelsea, Middx
A H Shepherd, brother, unm, 39, Solicitor, b Faversham, Kent

Class: RG11; Piece: 732; Folio: 51; Page: 35

What is her father's name recorded as being on her marriage certificate?

Hello

Thanks for your reply. Her father's name was William Curson on the marriage certificate and I think the occupation is foreman (the writing on the cert is terrible!) I can't even tell if the surname has a S or Z!

Thanks
