In 1881 my G grandmother worked at the above house. She was a Cook/Servant to Lt Col Sir Arthur Need.

Could anyone tell me how I could get a photograph of this house? Would it be in any books about Nottinghamshire.?
Does anyone know if it is still standing?.

Any help and advice appreciated.

I Suppose you've already seen this on GENUKI.
"Fountain Dale, the handsome mansion of Mrs Anne Need, is distant 1½ miles north of Blidworth, near the romantic scenery of Thieves Wood and Harlow Wood. Blidworth Hall, 1½ miles south-west of the village, is the beautiful residence of Jonathan Hardcastle Esq.

White's Directory of Nottinghamshire 1853"

Is this of use for you - it is taken from the (out of print) blidworth book by Will Richards - i think that is who wrote it - I may be wrong. It is an aerial shot of the house.

From Frank. Begins: My relative
Lt. Gen. - SAMUEL NEED - 1765-1838 - purchased Fountain Dale in 1818
I have written up the history of the Needs since that date who lived there.
I can email it directly to you.

I am also related to the Need family from Fountain Dale, and would value any information
that you have. Which child of Samuels are you related to? I am from Caroline.
