I have noticed that I don't get any notification of replies to any threads to which I have subscribed. Is anyone else having this problem?
I have checked all settings and everything appears OK.

Hi Michael,

The reply facility is working for me. A bit of a mystery.

Michael,

Can you let me know if you are notified of this post. I have updated your profile.

Hi Procat,

Am I correct in assuming that a notification should be sent to my email address? I am sure that this used to happen.

Michael

It should do so. If what I have done works that is.:)

Nothing yet

I got the PM, but there are no notifications to my email address.

OK, looks like the change I made does not stick. Perhaps Bo-Peep is the only one powerful enough.

Try this please:

Go to User CP (at top of page)

Settings and options

Edit options

Under Messaging and Notification select the option under "Default thread subscription mode" for "instant email notification".

That's done - I will see what happens now.

Frustrating - at least now you appear to have the option selected in your profile.

When you reply do you have a screen further down the page "Addition options"?

If so, does it have the option under "Thread notification" as "Instant email notification"? If not try changing it to that.

And if that doesn't work we may have to get the shepherdess involved.

Thanks, Procat
Have to go off line for awhile - get back to it later.

Hi Procat,
Don't appear to have that option. Shepherdess to the rescue |help|

could it be his email stopping it or going into spam?

No changes to my email settings - in fact I 'wound back' the spam filter just to test.

I'm sure you will have checked the obvious, but have you by any chance changed your e-mail address since you joined?

Had the same one for ten years. No changes to anything in my computers either.

Michael received a PM which I sent him so it only appears to be the replies to posts which has gone wonky.

I will send the link to Pam and hopefully she can rectify what is probably a simple issue that is beyond me. :)

Thanks Procat, I will await the outcome,

Hi MrsA,

You profile shows that you have set to receive email notifications daily.

If you follow the steps in post number 8 you should get immediate email notification.

You do have to activate it for every thread of interest by going to thread tools and clicking on "Subscribe to this thread".

Thanks Procat, all done now, I think :|

As Ladkyis has said, you need to activate the threads you are interested in otherwise you won't get the notifications. Perhaps that is where you are going wrong Michael.

I have mine daily, and they are in my `in box' when I switch on in the mornings. I prefer to go through them altogether as I find it easier for me.

Good luck Peter.

I traced the problem to the ISP who for some reason have blacklisted all B-G messages. Solved the problem by using an alternative ISP
