Hi hoping someone could give me a lead in regard to the 4th & 88th Regiments I am presuming Ireland.
I am trying to trace my gr gr grandmother who was a convict but was a widow, I am unsure if she used her maiden or married name when sent to Tasmania in 1848.
On her papers she went by Mary Dwyer , widow, native of Limerick.
Her mother was Bridget ?
Brothers John 4th Rgmt. *
James 88th Rgmt *
Daniel ?
Michael
Sisters Ellen
Margaret
So I was hoping to get some sort of lead of which SURNAME was used if I could trace the regiments maybe.
Hoping someone has an idea, many thanks karen

The 88th Regiment of Foot became the Connaught Rangers in 1881 and were disbanded in 1922.
