I'm not sure which birth registers you've tried, but Free BMD has the birth of an Albert Henry Grainger registered in the Bradford District in the March quarter of 1876.
You would be able to get a birth certificate from Bradford Register Office, which is one of the more helpful ones for FH. You can order this over the phone with a credit card; if you tell them what you already know they will check it against the register, and if it doesn't match you shouldn't have to pay anything.
