I have Athertons from Kirkby around 1800. John Atherton (b. 1791 Kirkby) married Margaret Molyneux (b. 1799 Simonswood) at St Chad's on 14th September 1818. Their son Thomas Atherton (b. 1823 Kirkby) married Ann Rawsthorn (b. 1827 Kirkby) at St Mary's, Knowsley in 1854. They were farming people. Thomas & Ann started out in Kirkby moved to Huyton then on to Higher Lane, Fazakerley.
