DEAKIN family, Measham & Ashby de la Zouch

I have the following family from Measham:

Thomas DEAKIN, head, age unknown, birthplace unknown
Elizabeth DEAKIN, wife, b. abt 1814, Measham
James DEAKIN, son, b. abt 1843, Measham
Francis DEAKIN, son, b. abt 1847, Ashby de la Zouch
Thomas DEAKIN, son, b. abt 1849, Ashby de la Zouch

Elizabeth was formerly married to ?? FINCH with whom she had a daughter Maria, b. abt 1837, Measham. Elizabeth married Thomas in 1840 (the FreeBMD index shows the name as DEACON, but I believe this is the correct entry). Thomas died before the 1861 census.

The above information is taken from the 1861 census for Fazeley, Staffs, where they moved later. Can anyone give me any details of the family from the 1851 and/or 1841 census for Measham and/or Ashby.

Hi Jon,

This is a bit far out, but you did mention Staffs.

I have some people I'm puzzling over on the 1861 for Handsworth. (RG9/2019, Folio 21, Page 35.) The last member of the household listed is an Ann Deakin, relationship not stated, widow, age 97, born London. If she is the m-in-l, her daughter, age 59, was born in America.

Your Thomas having unknown age & birth place might fit in with all this travel. :)
