DEAKIN family, Fazeley

I have a single Staffs link.

Sarah Deakin is recorded as a widow in the 1881 census for Kiveton, Yorkshire. She was born abt 1843 in Fazeley. in 1881 she lived with her children William James (b.1863), Emma (b.1864), Arthur Edward (b.1867) and Clara (b. 1869), all born Fazeley, and Selina (b.1875, Kiveton).

She must have moved at some time between 1869 and 1875, but cannot find her on 1871 census in Kiveton.

Could anyone see if Sarah is on the 1871 and/or 1861 for Fazeley, and give me details of her husband?

Hi Jo,

Thanks for that information. It is certainly the correct family. I suspected that Emma (1881) was Emily (1871 and 1891), and also believed her father was James.

Now on to Leicestershire!

Hi, Slightly in shock, my Gt Gt Gt grandparents are Sarah and James Deakin born Fazeley . Sarah born abt 1841, James 1843. James died age 35 1875. they lived 149 Mill Lane Fazeley, 1871, James 28, Sarah 30, William 8, Emily 6,Aurthur 4, Clara 2. Selina is the grandaughter to Sarah and James. William is my Gt Grandfather, he married Mary E Salmon from Cuckney. I will have to look up details of 1881. They were in kiveton Park by 1891. I will sort out the details for you. Chidren of William and Mary are Aggie 1885, Willis 1886, , Gertrude 1888, James 1890, Selina 1892, Maggie 1893, Annie 1895, Doris 1898. Doris is my Grandmother, she Married John Richard Clark. Hope this helps.
