I recently found the Cambridgeshire Archives, which has a searchable database. I managed to find ancestors to my Eve family from Cambridge and discovered details on some wills etc.
If anyone else has ancestors from the area it is well worth a look and the staff are very helpful if you need to email them any questions. Good luck all!

Hi Spangle,
In your research into the Eve family, I don't suppose you have come across a Susan Eve born about 1748. Susan was my 6x gt grandmother and she married William Pledger in 1768 at Burrough Green but I can't find her baptism.
Thanks.

Hello Worrals!
I don't recall a Susan Eve in amongst my lot... but there is an Eve Family website here -

...and my own Eves have been detailed by some cyber angel, to whom I'm eternally grateful, here -

My lot came from Chesterton in Cambridge largely, with a few in other parts of the city and in the villages nearby. What has really, really infuriated me is that until 2 years ago I spent five years living in Chesterton... but I didn't know that this is where my ancestors came from at the time!
Best of luck!

Hi Spangle,
Thanks for the information. Very interesting.
I had the same experience as you, after researching my family tree I found my 3x gt grandparents had lived two doors down from me when I lived in Whittlesford!
Worrals.
