Henry William Simmons

Hi Everyone

I am looking for my Grandfather, Henry William Simmons b. circa 1880
Died 1967. Welshpool, Wales
He was 38 when he married Mildred Platten in 1918. Colteshall, Norfolk. (my Grandmother, I do have quite a lot of info about her)
Henry's occupation at time of marriage is somewhat blurred, S.Q.M.S Mont 8th Yeo. Henry's father was a William Simmons, on Henry's marriage certificate it says his occupation was Hotel Keeper (deceased).

Henry and Mildred made their home in Welshpool, Wales. My father was born in 1920, Welshpool, Wales.

That is all I have on Henry |banghead|.

Please can anyone help me.

Who were the witnesses to the marriage? any clues there.

Have you got Death Cert. as this should tell you where he was born. I have looked for a birth abt 1880 on FreeBMD came up with these

There seems to be an error either on the marriage or death cert.
On the marriage it states Henry's age as 38yrs.
On the death cert it states death aged 85yrs (Bank Official retired)

Wonder if the witness is this chap - Birth Registration of Stanley Walthew Watling, 1871, Q3 Yarmouth Norfolk 4b 23

Just wondered if we can tie him in anywhere. - this chap seemed to marry an Elizabeth Sapsworth in London and they are in Wales in 1901.

you can forget the one b 1879 in Kent his parents are Thomas and Elizabeth found them on the 1881 Census.
and the one b 1878 N. Aylesford he died 1880 age 1.
