Does anyone know if or where there is any information available about this school. I believe it was in Lambeth by the docks somewhere, but the site has since been re-developed.

Many Thanks,
Aland.

According to The National Archives (http://www.nationalarchives.gov.uk/nra/searches/subjectView.asp?ID=O104002), the admission registers for 1909 to 1960 are with the London Metropolitan Archives.

I am not sure but I think the school may have had something to do with the 'Lady Margaret Hall Settlement'.
Might be worth a google.

Also there are estate agents selling apartments in a school conversion in Salamanca Square, Lambeth. I am not sure if it is the same school but that might also be worth a google.

I couldn't see a connection with the 'Lady Margaret Hall Settlement',

Thanks anyway Mutley,

Thanks anyway Mutley,

Maybe not then. :(
I know they were involved in Salamanca House and also set up training schools, clubs and societies in the Lambeth area about that time. Probably just a co-incidence with the name.

Thanks for your reply Peter, will have to go there sometime .

Mutley,
Apparently the volunteers of the Lady Margaret Hall Settlement worked in the Salamanca mission but I have no idea if the School was a continuation of the mission.

As it is also one of my areas of research,
let us hope someone knows and puts us both out of our misery.:D

Good Luck

I attended St Saviours Salamanca from 1956 to about 1959/60 when was closed down.and I had to relocate to St Peters at Vauxhall
My mother and her siblings also went there in the 1920s
The school was knocked down shortly after closing down and has nothing to do with the one at salamanca street.....this school was opposite the railway
Arches and a 2 minute walk to Lambeth Walk or up to Albert Embankment.and the Thames
