I am told my uncle, George Hand, received an MBE for his work in maintaining food rations for POWs. This may have been immediately post-war but I'm not sure. Does anyone know how I would find out more details?

If so it should have been announced in the London Gazette (http://www.gazettes-online.co.uk/).
