On the marriage certificate it should record the information of George the father. This may narrow them down in the census.

The 1891 census only records 4 entries for William Long with a father George born +/- 1 year 1884:

Parents George/Elizabeth Born Pamber, Hampshire

Parents George/Catherine Born Blakeney, Norfolk

Parents George/Caroline Born Potterne, Wiltshire

Parents George/Harriet Born Syrian Arab Republic, Balham residence Temple, Gloucestershire

Do any look likely?

Bad news I am afraid Stonewall. Could not pick them up in either the 1891 or 1901 census.

However, do not despair as there are others who are far better at this game than I am.

You also have a Riley in your family? My mother's maiden name was Riley, and her mother was Sarah Outram. What are the odds!

:)
