Please could somebody check the 1851 census for me? :) I am trying to find 2 sisters and hopefully, the census will give their age and place of birth.
William Inns married Margaret Watson 1837. If she is the one I am looking for then she was born 1815 Weston.
George Lake married Sarah Watson 1849. Again, if she is the one I am looking for then she was born in 1818 in Weston.

I have found a Sarah Lake with husband George in Cheapside. However, it has her place of birth as Holborn. George is a Dinning (sic) Room Keeper.

Class: HO107; Piece: 1529; Folio: 338; Page: 38

Do you want the details?

No thanks Jan, I do not think that this is her.

Thanks Jan,
I am sure this is them (Walton could be mistranscribed Weston) and Margaret's mother and father were Ann and Jeremiah. Her widowed mother, in 1841, was a publican and farmer in Weston.
Could I prevail upon you again to see if you could find them in any later census for me please?

Hello Jan
I am now sure that this is them. William's father was John.
Thank you so much for your help.

Just found them in 1881 and they have gone up in the world a bit. Had to trawl through the Aston pages as goodness knows what they have been transcribed as:

Whites Farm, Aston End

William Inns, Head, 66, Farm Bailiff, b Aston, Herts
Margaret Inns, wife, 64, b Aston, Herts
Mary Watson, sister-in-law, unmarried, 67, b Gravely, Herts (this could be the proof that Margaret was a Watson!)
Charles Sprigins, boarder, 13, Ag Lab, b Aston, Herts (there are a load of Sprigins living next door)

RG11, 1422, 4, 6

Do you want me to check 1891 and 1901 as well?

Hello Jan
It just shows how quick I was to jump to the wrong conclusion.:o
Mary Watson, bp 1813 Graveley to John and Penelope had a sister Margaret bp 1817 Aston, so not the right family at all. I really do appreciate all your hard work for me. I think that I must now visit County Hall to look at the Weston parish records to see if I can find any deaths or marriages for the relevant Watsons of that parish.
My Margaret did have a sister Mary, also unmarried, and she was on her own in Weston in 1881. Incidentally, the familyseach has the family in 1881 as Jones!
Thanks again
Elaine
