My Great Grandfather served in this regiment in India, during his service his Daughter Catherine was born in 1873 (I have her birth cert) Can anyone tell me where I might find information on his service record I have tried a couple of web sites to no avail. I have tried searching the regiment as per my title and can find nothing. Where can I go from here?

Have you tried the FIBIS [Families in British India Society] web site? The National Archives at Kew holds service records of officers and other ranks of British army regiments stationed in India.

The 21st Regiment of Foot became the Royal Scots Fusiliers in 1881. They merged with the Highland Light Infantry in 1959, and have probably been re-merged again in more recent times. There was a museum at 518 Sauchiehall St, Glasgow but I do not have up to date information.
