Benjamin Harwood

|help| Does anyone have this family in their tree please? Benjamin was married to Elizabeth and they had 10 children, born at Watton at Stone between 1804 & 1821, but I cannot find a marriage for them (so no surname for Elizabeth) or any other information. In the 1841 census Elizabeth is widowed, and in the 1851 census it is stated that she was aged 70 and born Buntingford.
Their daughter Susanna born 1813 married my great great grandfather Daniel Odell in 1835. :)

Could he have been married before?? There is this marriage on the Online Hertfordshire Marriage Index:

14 August 1792 at Great Wymondley Benjamin HARWOOD married Lucy CHAMBERS, botp.

There is also a marriage on 21 December 1831 at Little Munden of Benjamin HORWOOD and Mary CHALKLEY, both of Watton on Stone - is he connected to you? No marriage of Benjamin to an Elizabeth c1800-04 I'm afraid.

Yes, the Benjamin who married Mary Chalkley was the son of Benjamin and Elizabeth. I know that he could have married before but all the children, according to the parish records, were born to Benjamin and Elizabeth and sometimes the surname does look like Horwood. Ben's brother David also married a Chalkley - Eliza in 1847.
