Hello christanel, and Dargie. I have followed your advice and am now in possession of Elijah Hardy's birth certificate. The name and surname of the father is shown as James Hardy, however the registration was carried out by the mother Harriet Hardy, Good you say, but family oral history mentions a problem involving recognition, the nature of which I am unable to come to grips with. It seems to involve a will or bequest dated some time in the period 1890 to 1902. How could I unearth information about this can anyone help me please. A.W.D.H
