My gr gr grandmother was Jane Fox HURLEY. From censuses, I know she was born about 1825 (very consistent) in Hereford (she never stated Herefordshire). In 1859 she married James DUGGINS in Bristol; her father was Richard HURLEY, boot & shoe maker.
In 1841, she was living with her father and siblings in Gloucestershire, near Bristol (HO107/ 377/11 f 69 p 20). In 1844, she registered at Portsea a son, Thomas Richard Fox HURLEY, who was apparently illegitimate. I know her elder sister Matilda Fox HURLEY married another DUGGINS at Shoreditch in 1842. I also know where Jane was from her marriage to her death in Northamptonshire in 1919 at the age of 94.
What I haven't traced yet are Jane's birth/baptism (was it in Hereford?), her mother's name, her father's marriage (to a Miss FOX, perhaps, before 1820?), details of any older siblings than Matilda and her mother's death.
Any information on these questions gratefully received.
