We are looking to find where Joseph Frewin of Nether Worton, Oxon was born. He married Elizabeth King of Barford St John at Adderbury in 1804 and went on to live in Nether Worton.
Can anyone help with finding out from where he came? We would appreciate any info and are prepared to share our tree.
Regards
Doreen Frewin

The Oxon marriage index says both bride and groom were of Barford St J.

Have they got it wrong?

Hello Doreen,

From the Oxfordshire FHS PR Transcripts of Adderbury:

14 September 1804 Joseph FRUDIN of Barford St John married Elizabeth KING of same parish by Banns. Elizabeth made her mark and witnesses were Richard BUTLER and Thomas HITCHMAN.

According to the 1841 census record of Nether Worton (HO107/890/21, folio 5, page 6), Joseph was born c1771 but not in the county of Oxfordshire although Elizabeth and all the children were. There is an extracted baptism on the IGI of a Joseph FREWIN on 30 March 1768 (within the +/- 5 years of the 1841) at Stanford in the Vale, Berkshire, father William, mother Betty???
