I am trying to find out more about the Reeves family . On the 1871 cencus there was Joseph, age 35,
Louisa, age 22
Joseph, age 4
Charles G, age 2
Ann J, age 11 months. All born Wick.

The one I am most interested in is Charles.
He married Margaret Ellen Howes in 1888 then I cannot trace him again until his death in Pershore in 1895.

Where were he and Margaret in 1891?
Any help would be appreciated,
Pat.

Hello Pat,

Where did Charles and Margaret marry? Was that in Wick too?

I did see a Charles and Margaret Reeves in Gloucestershire in 1891 but they were enumerated as brother and sister - both single. He was 33 and she was 40, both born Malmsbury. He was a farmer but they are the only ones that I have found so far.

Is this Charles with mother in 1881, says he is the stepson of Benjamin and Louisa Hawker. Joseph must have died?
Class: RG11; Piece: 2928; Folio: 84; Page: 10

If so could he have used the name Hawker sometimes?

If there is a relationship to the Hawkers then this family might be worth a look at in 1901 but no sign of Charles.

Thanks to you both. The family that Mutley has picked up on is the one. Yes, Joseph died, and Louisa married Benjamin Hawker.
Charles married Margaret Ellen Howes in 1888 (Pershore), but then dissapears.
I have him dying in 1895, but that is unsourced. Margaret re-marries in 1901 to Thomas Beard. He was previously the husband of Charles sister, Annie Jane Reeves.

Where were Charled and Margaret in 1891?

Cheers, Pat
