The first known child of the marriage of Thomas Winson to Mary Ann or Marianne Finney was baptized in Crich in 1863. Thomas Winson was of Crich and Marianne of STS Ellastone. No marriage has been found in either place, not anywhere else on IGI, or in BMD, There is no evidence of a previous marriage for Marianne. In 1881, she is noted as 'wife' on Census. All possible spellings have been checked and 'Soundex' searches conducted.

If anyone has knowledge of this marriage I would be pleased to hear.

Thank you Eileen :D

Were they married at all? I have a few on censuses stating they were married when in fact like you I can not find a marriage certificate.

Neil, hello I did wonder. Information in a prayer book of the time shows birth of both parties and of their children and some burials - but no marriage, which does look a bit suspicious.

Keep on |banghead|
Best wishes Eileen

Does this help?
I found a Thomas Winson married 1859 June quarter Ashby de la Zouch
Vol 7a Page 66.
On the same page was a Harriett Finney.
There were about 4 couples on the same page so no idea who married who :(

Thought it might be worth a post though.
