I am looking for information on an ancestor Harry Burr-Perrett born 1882. I have recently found several postcards that say postcard published by H Burr-Perrett, Bartley New Forest. The post card I have is dated 1928 .
I know that in 1926 he is mentioned in the London gazette as a bankrupt Stationer in Donhead St.Mary in Wiltshire.
I am trying to find out more about the Publisher in Bartley New Forest. Has anybody any ideas ?

Have you tried any directories to see if a full name is given? - e.g. Post Office, Kelly's, etc. You may find one using the historical directories web-site, but other than that they can be purhased on CD from The Parish Chest. (http://www.parishchest.com/)

Any subsequent entries in the Gazette which show him as discharged from Bankruptcy and give a link to the New Forest?

Did he leave a will in which there is a link to the New Forest?

Thankyou for the suggetions, I have had a look through the historical directory site and have spent a long time looking through the PortCities Southampton website of all street directories with no luck at the moment.

I have not investigated any wills yet

It might be worth trying the New Forest Museum at Lyndhurst:
http://www.newforestmuseum.org.uk/
They have an extensive Forest-related library.

Good luck
