I'm a direct descendant of one Sarah Parnaby, born in Raby Park and christened in Staindrop in 1817 . Her father's name was Christopher Parnaby, born @ 1791, most likely in the Staindrop area, her mother was a Sarah Hodgson. They were married in 1811 in Staindrop. Sarah had siblings, among them:
George Hodgson Parnaby, born @ 1821; Hannah Parnaby, born @ 1815; Jane Parnaby, born @ 1825. A couple of other children died young.
If anyone else has connections to this Parnaby family, please contact me.
I have not yet been able to get a lead on her mother, Sarah Hodgson, and there are numerous possibilities involved, assuming Sarah was born around 1790, "somewhere in Durham". I've already found some family ties to the Hodgsons through my Blackett line, though a couple of generations later.
