The Passenger Lists on findmypast show the occupation for a W TUSON traveling to New Zealand in 1909 as "Mass Finisher". Any ideas what this occupation may be?

There is a second W TUSON on the list travelling in 1923 (who may be the same person as the one above) whose occupation was Butcher.

Is there a chance that it could say "Brass Finisher"?

Brass finisher is a possibility as Br could be interpreted as an M. I am sort of hoping that it is something to do with butchery as this would mean the two W Tusons are the same person as the ages on the 1909 & 1923 lists tally. Thanks for the speedy response.

Sadly a "Brass Finisher" was nothing to do with butchery. It was someone who cast brass.

I wouldn't rule him out necessarily, if there were no foundries around he may have been forced into a career change.
