I don't know if anyone can help me?
On the 1901 census one of my ancestors W. BALE age 10 has an address as a school. It says 'under detention in ......? school.
Would anyone know what the missing word could be?
Thanks.

Sorry I haven't got the reference number as I picked up the information in the library today, I should have taken a photocopy. I put into Ancestry
W. BALE born in Gloucestershire in 1891. It was schedule no. 101.

The reference is actually 2371. It definitely says truant, as if you go to the preceding page where the institution starts it is listed as Eagle House Truant School, Southwell Street, Bristol. The matron was a Mrs. PECK. I bet she did too :D
