Hello Jaydee, Looking on LDS I found the following birth. The date and town seem about right.

Emily Corke
B:1809 Cowes, Hampshire
D:Before 1940
Father:George Corke
Mother:Jemima Cushen

there was no source info.

there are lots of Corkes in Cowes on IGI ... I couldn't easily find what I thought may be Amelia's siblings.

Kind Regards
Peter Euston

Hello Peter
Thank you for the repy.
As it turned out Amelia was the only child in her family not on the IGI. (Typical ;-))
I have been to Newport Record office where they have a marvellous card index, so I was able to trace the family. And also met up with a third cousin through Genes connected and his wife who is working on their family.

Happy hunting

Jaydee
