Hi would anyone know if it's possible to obtain service records and medal cards for the Boer War 1899 - 1902??
Have a great day

Providing your man was out of the army by 1913, it's quite easy. See

http://www.nationalarchives.gov.uk/catalogue/RdLeaflet.asp?sLeafletID=14

You won't find his name in the catalogue but you will be able to determine the range in which his name falls and thus the piece to look in. You should be able to order the documents over the internet. I'd have done it for you but you didn't mention a name.

Thanks Peter,
I will have a look and see what I can find out.
My great granddad - John Francis regt.# 8375 was a bugler I think for the 2/Volunteer Coy of the Highland Light Infantry.
Thanks again
Ann

Providing that he was discharged between 1900 and 1913 his papers should be in WO 97/4876. You can order the documents through "Shop Online".

If the papers aren't there, they might be in the chunk of misfiled douments.
