Rebecca John

He then married

Birth Date 1883 1 Grenfell Town Llansamlet Swansea Glamorgan
Death Date 12 December 1952 Riflemans Row Pentrechwyth Swansea Glamorgan

I have got the marriage certificate for Thomas John Davies and Mary Evans

Peter's quite right. There could further clues. I have a several great whose death was registered more than 3 months after the event.

Where did you get 22 September 1908 as Rebecca's death date?

Allowing for he fact that he could have lied - what does the cerificate record for John's marital status?

Bear in mind that he could have abandoned his first wife and married bigamously.

Or, divorced his first wife (should be recorded on TNA's catalogue in class J77)*

Or a different John DAVIES married Rebeccas JOHN.

The answers may lie in the marriage certificate in which Rebecca JOHn is recorded - and has been mentioned by others, the death certificate for Rebeca DAVIES.
