I am researching my Maudesley roots. There are several variations in the spelling and mine started out as Mawdsley.
My Mawdsley family came from Kirkby, Lancs in the early 1800s, with my great grandmother moving to Bootle at the time of her marriage,sometime in the early 1870s.
The other names in the Lancashire district I am interested in are:-
Bibby and Barlow.
