Trying to trace the marriage and death of Charles Adey born Oct 1866 Westbury Wiltshire and emigrated to USA 1888 according to 1900 census. Was married to Mattie/Martha about 1898. Charles was a brother to my grandmother and their father Arthur visited Charles in Baltimore in 1898. Was this to attend his son's marriage?
Any info appreciated.
Thanks

Hi Norma

I haven't found a marriage but the 1900 census shows that they had been married for two years. Found Charles and Mattie in 1910 census in Maryland and 1920 census in Virginia but didn't find either in the 1930 census.

So in doing a internet search, I found this information on "Find a grave"

Rev Charles Adey
Birth: Oct. 15, 1866
Death: Dec. 5, 1926

WIFE: Mattie Adey

Burial:
Loudon Park Cemetery
Baltimore
Baltimore city
Maryland, USA

Record added: Oct 29 2007

Mattie Adey
Birth: unknown
Death: Sep. 3, 1929

HUSBAND: Rev. Charles Adey

Burial:
Loudon Park Cemetery
Baltimore
Baltimore city
Maryland, USA

Record added: Oct 29 2007

There is contact details for the person who added the records.

Also here are two passenger list entries that might be useful:

Rev Charles Adey age 44 arriving Boston, Massachusetts 9th September 1911 on the ship "Arabic"

US Citizen ( Baltimore 1899 )

Going to: 2441 Federal St. Baltimore

Also a Arthur Henry Adey age 20 arriving New York 16th October 1907 on the ship "Caronia"

Father, F W Adey, 2 ? Tce, Clifford, Bristol

Going to: Uncle Chas Adey, Marion, Maryland

Hope this helps

Best wishes

Yvonne

Thanks Yvonne for all this info. I had found my gt Grandfather on the passenger lists but not the younger Arthur Henry Adey. Helps to put another piece in the jigsaw!
