hi new in here.
i'm doing a family tree and have come across this information:how do i verify it?

Unless you have a source for the information that you "came across", I would suggest that you'll have to treat it as a clue and look for his army records at the National Archives.

Discharge papers are usually the best thing to look for first and sometimes they tell you all you need to know.

Note that if he was in the Crimean War, you won't be surprised not to find him listed by name in the catalogue. You'll see from reading the research notes that you'll need to know approximately when he was discharged.
