Hi, especially to anyone with a connection to that name.
We are looking for how a 'troop' of Crutcher minors reached NZ at the beginning of the last century. They came from Rotherhithe, South London but moved from Poplar East London. My wife's father William Crutcher (the youngest) was born in 1891 and fought with the Anzecs in Gallipoli in the first world war. Other names are George, Dora, Jessie, Kate, Nellie and Harry. We have memories of her mother saying that Dora & Jessie stayed on and married in NZ. We have photo evidence linking relatives to Plunkets Bay. We have not been able to trace this location. Our daughter traced William's service record but we have got no further. We cannot trace the names on any passenger list. So if you have a Crutcher in your ancestry please contact us or knowledge of the best search site in NZ. Thanks, you will make a not so young lady really happy.
PS We had a five week holiday in NZ in March/April. Great country, sorry about the plight of the Kiwi bird!
