Parish Records

Can anyone advise me as to which church would have been the parish church for Longfleet, Dorset around 1789. I am trying to locate the christening/birth of John Saunders who was born around that time. I do know that he married Jane Cole 28 March 1830 in Great Canford. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I felt sure that I knew the answer to this question but to be certain I have checked in the Philliomore Atlas & Index of Parish Registers. :D

The church in Longfleet only has records from 1833 deposited in the record office. I assume that the Church was built around that time.

St James, Poole has deposited records from 1538. I always think of this as the church in Poole.

Thanks for the quick help. I did wonder about St. James but wasnt sure of dates when churches were built.
