Earlier today, Aubrey posted a reply to an item that I had posted in the Labourer's thread about my great uncle Albert. This was Aubrey's first posting on Brit-Gen.

It turns out that his grandfather and my grandmother were brother and sister. We've been in contact direct and even spoken for 45 minutes on the telephone.

Success story, or what eh?

So a big THANK YOU to Brit-Gen for enabling this to happen!

So happy for you Jan. I have also had a |woohoo| moment this weekend. Someone found a long lost ancestor amongst the BMD transcriptions I have been doing from Cape Town newspapers at Kew. He has since looked up the actual baptisms in the Military Chapel for the 1820s and found the baptisms of my family as well, which I previously only had from newspaper reports. As well as an exact date of birth for my great great grandfather I have also discovered another child I knew nothing about!!
