I'd be interested to hear from anyone with connections to the HARCOURT and GIBSON families of Ballyworkan. This townland is a few miles south of Portadown; it was originally in the parish of Drumcree, but Portadown when that became a parish. It's also close to Mullavilly church, and some baptisms etc may have taken place there.

William HARCOURT (b. 1814, son of John) married Jane GIBSON (b. 1821, daughter of Jeremiah) in Portadown (St Mark's C of I) in 1848. Within a few years they were in Tandragee (parish of Ballymore), where William was variously recorded as a farmer, publican and spirit dealer.

I know of 5 daughters: Martha, Eliza Jane, Sarah, Annie and Mary Ellen. Eliza Jane (b. 1852) was my great grandmother, and she married William KENNEDY in Tandragee in 1876. He was a Scot working as a gardener for the Duke of Manchester at Tandragee Castle, but within a year or so they moved to another of the Duke's estates - Kimbolton Castle in Huntingdonshire.

Can anyone connect to any of these?
