Looking to share information with others researching these names in and around Scariffe in Co Clare. Details known:
Parents: James HALLORAN and Margaret DINAN
Child: Bridget Halloran born c1834-1839 probably Scariffe
Occupation: James was a labourer

Bridget Halloran ended up in Ballarat, Victoria, Australia and married James LAIDLER in 1859.

There was a Bridget HALLORAN convicted of sheep stealing in Co Clare in 1849; she was transported aboard the 'Duke of Cornwall' to Hobart, Tasmania. There is no evidence that this Bridget HALLORAN died or married in Tasmania. She was granted her ticket of leave in 1856. We have a physical description of her from the ship's surgeon's report. She was only 4' 10" tall and 16 years old - ie born 1834.

We also have a photo of my gg grandmother Bridget Laidler (nee Halloran). She is very tiny; under 5' tall.

We travelled to Scariff in Jan 2007 and checked available parish records. There was a Bridget Halloran born about this time, but parents were different. This was the parish of Bodyke. The other parish of Scariffe didn't have records going back to the mid 1830s.

Our best hope now is to share information with other researchers. Hope to hear from you soon.
