Good day.

My name is Charles Rignall, and for the past eight years I have been trying to find the origins of John Lupton. John married Joanna Doidge in Stoke Damerel, Plymouth, in 1798. Their son George was baptized in Tavistock in 1801. John supposedly died in 1808, and Joanna remarried, supposedly a Mr. William Bate. George went on to marry Mary Ann Pound, of Lanlivery, Cornwall, at St. George Hanover Square, London. I do not know how George could have met Mary Ann unless the William Bate at issue was of the Bodmin Bates. Any thoughts or commiseration would be welcome.

I am also interested in the Hoyles of the Bacup area, the Rignalls or Rignels of Cambridgeshire, and the Flemings who lived in London at the end of the 1700's having apparently fallen directly from heaven.

There are more brick walls, of course. But sufficient unto the day are the brickwalls thereof.

Regards,

Charlie Rignall
