My grandfathers sister Jenny ended up in Canada whether she married in England or out there I do not know. There are 3 Jane Millers married in Sunderland around that time so I suppose I shall have to try and follow them all up. Unfortunately all I have are 1st names, a Robert C1915 and a Teddy 1.6.1943 whom I used to swap comics with as a child! Now you think why didn't I ask my parents about them. Any ideas welcome

Was 1892 the year of her birth or the year she supposedly went to Canada? I have access to Ontario death index up to 1934 so if you give me the three possible married names I can see if she is listed under any of those.

You might try findmypast.com. It is free to a point for searching the immigration via ship. Just say all departure points from the UK. Arrivals were either Halifax or Quebec city in Canada. At least they were when I came over. They have early lists but few for the 1950's and up.:D

Sorry, nothing conclusive at all under any of those names. Do you think if she married Frederick Wren she would have called herself Jenny ;)

The Ontario Deaths only go up to 1934 which is probably too early if she was born in 1892, and of course there is a lot more to Canada! I searched the 1911 Canadian census for a Jane or a Jenny born 1892 but nothing under any of those names. Again, it may well be too early as she would onlly have been 19 then. You will need to find out first whether she married in this country and then you know what name to search for at findmypast.
