Kennedy Stray - 1851/1841??

I have a Kennedy stray which I'm hoping SKS could assist me in tracing backwards in 1851/1841 please? { I don't have his B.Cert}

William Kennedy b~1844 Stapleton, Cumberland, England according to 1881 Census @ 38 Cromwell St, Elswick, Northumberland, England

I've managed to trace him backwards up until 1861 viz:

It looks like the grandson named William in the 1871 census was quite probably Jane's son...

In 1881, Simon is widowed and living with his unmarried daughter Jane. But by 1891, Simon has [likely] died and Jane is living with her son William and his family:
