I have been dabbling with family history for a few months now and am trying to concentrate on my paternal grandmothers family. Her maiden name was Fryer Kelsey. The info I have gathered so far places the family in places such as Islington & Edmonton. I am particularly interested in finding out about a cousin of my grandmother, a Mabel Fryer Kelsey (DOB: 01.12.1907- DOD 1969). She was a nurse during WW2 and received some type of award/medal. I have been told by other family members that this may have been the Legion of Honour or Croix de Guerre. I havn't been able to confirm this as yet. It has also been suggested that she was taken POW during her service abroad (maybe France or Italy). I have a photo at the following link

The photo is noted on the reverse "M Fryer Kelsey - Oxford". Is it possible to identify the uniform she is wearing. Mabel is the one above the cross. If anyone has any info re the Fryer Kelsey's I would love to hear from you.
