Hi Brian, Thanks for that. I can't connect your George to my tree. The George I am most confused about is George Carpenter married Elizabeth Pitt Hawkins Nov 1818 at Wroughton. But a gg uncle clearly remembered his Grandmothers maiden name as Maslin. I found such a marriage at Upton Scudamore several years later, but am unable to sort that family for any connection to mine. Any clues gratefully received.

I am unable at the present to find that couples marriage.
Lydia (1823) was mentioned in the 1841 Census with Geo and Eliza, Mary,
John, Edward and Thomas at Wroughton.

Hi Brian, Yes this is my lot. Edward ( Later known as Edwin) is my GG grandfather. If I remember correctly. The marriage detail had Pitt Hawkins - so I am not even sure which surname to follow for her, let alone perhaps a second wife.
