Hi Tooniebear |wave|
Welcome to the forum. :)
The best way to find out about a marriage is to get a copy of the marriage certificate. You can buy a copy from the General Register Office (GRO) using the GRO reference (you have just quoted part of it). The full reference is:
John Chandler married December quarter 1860, Newington registration district, volume 1d, page 301.
You can obtain a certificate online from www.gro.gov.uk/gro/content/certificates (http://www.gro.gov.uk/gro/content/certificates) They cost £7 each and take about a week to arrive in the UK.
A partial index of the GRO births, marriages & deaths is available on www.freebmd.org.uk (http://www.freebmd.org.uk)
Good luck. :)

The marriage is showing on FreeBMD and you could order the certificate from the GRO.
http://www.gro.gov.uk
You have to register on the site but that is free, it will cost £7.00. You will need the area, page and volume numbers, Newington, 1d 301, to fill out the form.
