My grandfather William james Warner married my grandmother Elizabeth Williams in Swansea in 1913 His age is given as 40 and his father's name is also William james Warner, horse dealer. My mother said her father was from Banbury but I've found nothing to link him to Oxfordshire. It has occured to me that "horse dealer" could mean gypsy. Has anyone any ideas where I can go from her please? I have found a father/son William in Gt Missenden on the 1881 census but William snr is not a horse dealer then or in a later census.

My todays logic tells me the term "Horse Dealer"in 1913 is very loose, with many thousands of trade's going on in every town and village, alot of folk would try their hand at it,even for a very short time.I myself traded a few horses 1999 (didn't have the taste for it) so for 3m'ths was a Horse dealer.
